Should cell phones and MP3 players be allowed in school? Why or why not?

If cell phones and mp3 players should not be in school why should we bring them to school when they're going to get us in trouble. So what I would do if I were there parents I would take them away from them so that they would not get in trouble.But one day at school a kid brought his mp3 player and his cell phone too and listened to his mp3 player and in a lot of trouble and nobody saw him since.
